Ausnutria Dairy sees strong profit increase

17 March 2017 - Herma van den Pol

Ausnutria Dairy Corporation, which includes Lyempf under its wing and which includes Hyproca Goat Milk, managed to achieve a strong profit increase. The company benefits from the smooth sales of baby food, including on the Chinese market. This is fueled by a further increase in the number of babies.

The company does not have its own dairy farmers, but various goat farmers are involved in the company through Hyproca Goat Milk. The products based on goat's milk in particular appear to be very successful. For example, the Kabrita brand offers baby and infant food. The main buyer is still China, but sales are also starting to increase in other places in the world, Russia, the Middle East and the US.

The US still plays a special role in this, because there is still work being done on the authorization of infant formula. At the beginning of 2017, only toddler milk will be sold there. The company hopes to obtain full approval by the end of 2017.

Heerenveen in use mid 2017
Hyproca also hopes to start using the baby food factory in Heerenveen in mid-2017. It therefore meets the stricter requirements that China will set for baby food from January 1, 2018. Under the rules it has also been established that only a maximum of 3 unique brands may come from the factory. It remains an important market. From 2015 to 2016, the number of newborns increased from 16,55 million to 17,86 million.

In total, the profit increased by 321,7 percent to 29,1 million euros in 2016. Turnover amounts to 378,0 million euros. The company hopes to achieve a turnover of 5 billion euros in the next 1,2 years.
