Organic milk price plust at FrieslandCampina

28 March 2017 - Herma van den Pol

In the month of April, part of the loss in March will be recovered. FrieslandCampina announced that it would increase the milk price for organic milk. The majority of this is due to the underestimated milk prices for the month of February.

48

euro

per 100 kilos of milk

The expectation for March was that prices at the reference companies would fall enough to trigger a decrease of 1,25 euros. In the month of April, some of that loss can be made up for. The price increases by 0,75 euros. As a result, the guaranteed price is 48 euros per 100 kilos of milk. Of this amount, 0,56 euros can be attributed to milk prices estimated too low for February.

The milk price includes a fat price of 391,77 euros, a protein price of 783,55 euros and a lactose price of 78,35 euros per 100 kilos of milk. A deduction of 2 euros per 100 kilos of milk still applies for April. That deduction will increase to 5 euros until June. In addition, 0,23 euros per 100 kilograms of milk will also disappear to ZuivelNL to finance the stopper scheme.

Due to the plus, the guaranteed price is only 0,50 euros below the price of a year earlier. Then the price recorded the lowest price for July and did not exceed 45 euros per 100 kilos of milk.

The price of conventional milk showed other developments about April† There is also exclusive for the subscribers of Boerenbusiness Milk & Feed Pro a overview of milk prices readily available.
