Motion passed again

Pressure around the Committee on phosphate bottlenecks is increasing

21 April 2017 - Herma van den Pol - 1 reaction

The Phosphate Reduction Regulation 2017 deserves everything but the beauty prize, and we haven't even talked about the phosphate rights yet. In the context of the phosphate rights, a special case committee will be set up. Precisely those bottlenecks also relate to the Phosphate Reduction Regulation 2017. A reason for various parties to increase the pressure around the committee.

An opaque situation slowly begins to emerge. This can cost individual entrepreneurs a lot of money. For example, in April, in the context of the Phosphate Reduction Regulation 2017, the first fines will be collected. At the same time, it appears that the references that dairy farmers have received are still incorrect in many cases. Flynth announced, via the agricultural press, that he would be defending himself against unjustified deductions.

Committee on bottlenecks is still missing

Second round of fines in sight
Peter Goumans, van Hekkelman lawyers, also outlined that the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) strives to respond to the submitted bottlenecks before 1 May. However, the fines have already been withheld. To object? Then another 6 weeks pass and the second round of fines is almost upon us.

As a result, many things are already stuck at RVO. This is not an exception. There are many voices coming from the field from dairy farmers who do not know where they stand. But then the problem committee. Anyone who is a bottleneck for the phosphate rights is also for the Phosphate Reduction Regulation 2017. Which means that a ruling is needed quickly from a committee that is still not there.

Clarity before June 1?
Thursday became one motion by Jaco Geurts (CDA) adopted by the committee. He received support from the SP, SGP, FvD, 50 PLus, ChristenUnie, VVD and PVV. The PvdA, the party to which Van Dam belongs, did not support the motion.

With the motion, Geurts asks Van Dam whether the bottleneck committee can report to the Lower House before 1 June 2017 on the numbers and categories of bottlenecks. This will provide more insight into this case just before the summer. Geurts also asks for an analysis before 1 June, in which an answer is given to the question of whether they are eligible for the 2018 special case scheme.

The pressure is increased
The pressure is steadily increasing to get the much-needed answers. It is necessary, because without more clarity the raison d'être of various companies is endangered and that is difficult to reverse afterwards.
