The application round for subsidy, to stop, enters the second round. From 8 to 14 May, dairy farmers can again call on a pot of 5 million euros. The previous round was already oversubscribed the same day.
As previously announced, the amount per cow is reduced for each round. In this round, the subsidy per milk or calf cow removed is 730 euros. For a calf the amount is 168 euros and a little finger yields 387 euros. In total there is a pot of 5 million euros available. In total, a maximum of 6.848 dairy and calf cows can be included under the scheme. Based on 42 kg of phosphate, this amounts to a reduction of 0,29 million kg of phosphate.
Reference date April 26
Applications can be submitted from 8 to 14 May Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) known. The number of dairy cows, calf cows, heifers and calves present on April 26 is used as the reference date. However, if there were fewer animals on October 1, 2016, this date is used as a reference.
Minor change
The new round brings with it a small change. For example, cattle that are more than 5,5 months pregnant may now be exported as commercial livestock. The condition is that they must be at their destination before they have completed 90 percent of the pregnancy. Export of cattle to slaughterhouses across the border is only allowed directly from the dairy farm under the supervision of the NVWA.
