Vreugdenhil sees an opportunity to raise the milk price again in April. Meanwhile, doubts about the phosphate reduction make the future uncertain. You can read here whether the first period of phosphate reduction also produced less milk.
Vreugdenhil will increase the price for the fat in April. Thanks to a plus of 10 cents, this will have the opportunity to increase to 3,20 euros per kilo. The protein remains unchanged at 6,30 euros per kilo.
The change in the fat price results in a milk price of 33,89 euros per 100 kilos of milk. This is 4,41 percent fat and 3,47 percent protein. This includes an annual supply of 600.000 kilos of milk. A delivery of 800.000 kilos of milk carries a price of 34,16 euros per 100 kilos of milk. A delivery of 1,1 million kilos of milk increases the yield to 34,44 euros per 100 kilos of milk.
Earn a premium
Vreugdenhil gives dairy farmers the opportunity to achieve a premium of a maximum of 2,10 euros on the milk price. Where 1,50 euros can be earned by applying grazing. Sustainability yields a bonus of 0,60 euros. The premium for quality is included in the milk price. Apart from that, 0,23 euros will be deducted from the milk price for the ZuivelNL schemes.
Milk production is steadily increasing
The Dutch milk supply usually reaches its highest point around week 17. This season, the 2017 Phosphate Reduction Regulation resulted in a lot of uncertainty about this seasonal development. Yet in the end it turns out not to be that different from other years. Vreugdenhil signals a stable higher milk supply. In general it 'milks well.'
