Hochwald puts money into German processing

12 May 2017 - Herma van den Pol

Hochwald announces that it will invest heavily in German processing over the next 4 years. The result is a factory that is large by German standards and thus manages to win the title 'Super-Molkerei'.

Hochwald, with the focus of its activities in Germany and a part in the Netherlands, will invest money in the German part. An investment made possible thanks to member approval.

Factory with substantial processing capacity
The plan is to invest a total of 4 million euros spread over the next 300 years. The lion's share of the budget will go to a factory with a processing capacity of 1,3 billion kilos of milk per year. According to the Food newspaper (LZ), Erftstadt, a location just below Cologne, is being considered for the construction of the factory.

Not only is there investment, it probably also means that factories will close in other places. However, nothing is said about it yet.
