Up to and including 2027, the average milk price is estimated at 34,50 euros per 100 kilos of milk. Wageningen UR announced this on Monday 29 May on the basis of an expert panel. That is barely 1,50 euros more than the average milk price in the past 10 years. This is apparent from milk price data from DCA and Boerenbusiness.
De milk price forecast established for the next 10 years. Wageningen Livestock Research has included this information in the new "Quantitative Information Animal Husbandry 2017-2018 (Kwin)" that will be published in September.
Expert panel
The forecast is made on the basis of an expert panel. They establish the new principles and standards for the long-term budget. This price will be the basis for company budgets and will form the basis for applications for the Agricultural Guarantee and the assistance scheme for the self-employed.
The average expected milk price from 34,50 to 2027 includes all cash supplementary payments and supplements that are reflected in the cash flow and excluding credits to the member account and VAT. This is approximately 1,50 euros more per 100 kilos of milk than the average dairy farmers received over the past 10 years.
