The recovery of the cheese price means good news for the dairy farmers who supply DOC Kaas. After a plus in May, the milk price continues to improve in June. This brings the EUR 35 per 100 kilos of milk back into view here as well.
In June, the fat price will increase to 3,11 euros per kilo. Protein follows closely behind with a price of 6,22 euros per kilo of protein. The pluses in fat and protein translate into a milk price of 34,74 euros per 100 kilos of milk, with 4,41 percent fat and 3,47 percent protein.
This includes an annual supply of 600.000 kilos of milk. A delivery of 800.000 kilos of milk guarantees a milk price of 35,03 euros per 100 kilos of milk and 1,1 million kilos of milk yields 35,31 euros.
The June milk price yields an average price of 33,69 euros per 100 kilos of milk for the second quarter. An increase of 3 percent compared to the first quarter. The interim result for the first half of 2017 was 33,18 euros per 100 kilos of milk. An improvement of 42 percent compared to the same period a year earlier.
Surcharge for sustainability
The milk price of DOC Cheese includes a PZ levy of 0,23 euros. Separately, a sustainability premium of 0,90 euros per 100 kilos of milk can be earned and a grazing bonus that can increase to 1,75 euros per 100 kilos of milk.
