April marked the turning point for the cheese price, but it was still too early to do anything about the milk price. This is again underlined by the European milk price comparison. The average milk price drops to 33,03 euros per 100 kilos of milk. FrieslandCampina takes third place.
The average milk price paid in LTO's European milk price comparison for April amounts to 33,03 euros per 100 kilos of milk. This at 4,2 percent fat and 3,4 percent protein. This includes an annual supply of 500.000 kilos of milk. Compared to a year earlier, this is an improvement of 22 percent, but when the price is compared with that of a month earlier, a decrease of 0,24 euros can be seen.
Arla and FrieslandCampina
FrieslandCampina managed to take third place in April with a milk price of EUR 35,02. Arla follows just below with a milk price of 34,16 euros. The difference between the milk prices of FrieslandCampina and Arla continues to increase in May and June. This is mainly because Arla deducted one euro from the milk price in May. FrieslandCampina, on the other hand, kept the price stable and increased the price for June by 0,75 euros.
In the milk price comparison, Müller and DMK are just not working together. Which also applies to DOC Cheese. Müller pays 31,82 euros, DMK 31,33 euros, with which the processors take place 9 and 10. Hochwald comes in 31,69th with a milk price of 12.
US milk price stands out
Outside the European Union, the United States still stands out in terms of milk price, namely a price of 35,67 euros. Only Switzerland and Italy pay more for milk. Emmi comes out at 42,98 euros and Fonterra sets the milk price at 32,84 euros per 100 kilos of milk.
