There is a risk of a milk shortage in Qatar. This is because the other Arab countries have turned away from the Gulf state. A businessman wants to help his homeland and has therefore flown in 4.000 dairy cows (divided over 60 planes).

Businessman Moutaz Al Khayyat bought herds of dairy cows in Australia and the United States. That reports the British newspaper The Independent on Tuesday 13 June. The 4.000 animals are flown in by Qatar Airways.

Businessman wants to provide the country with milk

Help Motherland
The businessman wants to help his homeland by supplying the country with milk. The other Gulf states have turned away from the country, because Qatar would financially support Muslim extremists. The country is largely dependent on imports from neighboring countries for its food supply.

Qatar is also receiving aid in other ways to solve the looming food shortage. Morocco has promised to send planes with food to the country.
