DOC Dairy takes over Uniekaas. It concerns the maturing, packaging and production facility of the company in Kaatsheuvel, Brabant. DOC wants to expand on the European market with this step.
With the takeover, DOC Dairy has complete cheese production lines. The cheese maker expects to be able to compete fully with other cheese products. Not all parts of Uniekaas will be transferred to DOC. The Melkbus, Coach Farm, Tjiezi and Parrano brands will be transferred to Best Cheese Holland. In addition to the Dutch market, this company will focus on the international market, in particular the United States and Southeast Asia.
Approval
The transaction still has to be approved by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) and the Austrian Competition Authority (BWB). The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of 2017.
DOC Dairy Partners is, among other things, a supplier of Gouda Holland cheese (PGI) and cheese made from meadow milk, mainly under private label. The company is a subsidiary of the German DMK.
