The improving milk prices in June and July will continue in August. At least, that's the case with dairy processor Arla.
Arla's milk price for the month of August will be increased by €1 per 100 kilos of milk. That is Arla's international milk price, based on 4,20% fat and 3,40% protein. The increase may differ per country, as each country applies different conditions.
In July, Arla's milk price in the Netherlands amounted to €33,07 per 100 kilos, delivered at 4,0% fat. At Arla you can also earn a grazing premium and an amount for quality and cells.
Second increase in a row
Arla's increase is the second increase in a row. Arla director Johnnie Russel says he is satisfied with the fact that he can incorporate the improving dairy market into the milk price. According to Russel, demand for fat is driven by good demand and low inventories. In contrast, protein moves at a low but stable level.
