Generating energy with cow manure

A Nadec dairy farm in Saudi Arabia, the largest energy exporter, is considering using cow manure to meet energy needs. 

Dairy manufacturer Nadec therefore plans to build a $200 million biomass plant. The factory must generate energy from cow manure.

Conversations started
Nadec is meanwhile in talks with various developers to actually realize the factory. The cooperative has also started the first talks with the bank to finalize the financing for the project. 

The company also has the idea of ​​installing a solar power station at the dairy farm. Shares for the project have already gained 19% on the stock exchange in Saudi Arabia this year.

Looking for new energy sources
Due to falling oil prices, the country is looking for new energy sources. Saudi Arabia aims to develop 10 solar and wind projects over the next 30 years. That is part of the program to stimulate energy production and reduce oil consumption.
