Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina will present a new vision to its members in the coming weeks. This new vision is expressed in 'the cooperative vision 2025 Milk with Added Value'. FrieslandCampina announced this on Friday 28 July.
The rapid growth of dairy farming in the Netherlands, after the abolition of the milk quota, and the rapid changes in the market are the main reasons for formulating this new objective.
Respond to the market
The 'Milk with Added Value' program is intended to ensure that dairy farmers affiliated with FrieslandCampina make their business operations more sustainable. According to FrieslandCampina, this is because society is increasingly interfering with the sector. Examples of this are grazing, land bound and mega stables.
Customers and consumers of dairy products are finding sustainability increasingly important when making their purchases. That is what the dairy manufacturer claims.
The vision
The new vision consists of 3 parts, namely 'value for us', 'care for animals and nature' and 'of value in and for society'. Among other things, the cooperative wants to get the maximum value out of milk, and a good price is necessary for the dairy farmer. The group also wants to focus more on responsible production, with respect for animals and nature.
Continuation
The new vision should be presented to members in the coming weeks. "We want to continue to belong to the most successful dairy cooperatives," said Frans Keurentjes, chairman of the board at FrieslandCampina.
