Standard chunk A starts declining trend

The price of the various cattle feeds fell mainly in July. The largest decrease is visible for silage maize core chunk and the price of Standard chunk A has started a downward trend

This is evident from figures from Wageningen Economic Research. Maize core chunks are rapidly becoming cheaper. In July the price fell by €0,40 to €31,20 per 100 kilos. The price has already fallen by €1 since April. Protein-rich chunk (B) fell in price by 10 cents to €24,20 per 100 kilos. This decrease is comparable to previous months.

Declining trend clearly visible
The price of Standard Brok A has started a downward trend. In the first 5 months of this year, the price was mainly up, before falling for the first time in June. This decline continued in July and the price was reduced by €0,05 to €21,10 per 100 kilos. This trend is expected to continue.

De compound feed price indicator foresees a price drop of up to 5% until January. Wheat is currently the main component, accounting for approximately 20%. This is followed by palm kernel expellers and barley.

Beef cattle feeds
The price of beef cattle feed continued in July. Rose calf chunks therefore amount to €25,90 per 100 kilos and beef bull chunks at €23,70 per 100 kilos.
