Milcobel has also announced the payment prices for the month of August. The fat price is rounded to €3,33 per kilo. That is €0,10 more than in July. The price of protein increases from €6 to €6,18 per kilo. In Belgium this results in a milk price of €38,13 per 100 kilos. That is €1 more than the month before.

Forefront
Converted to Dutch values, the milk price, with an annual supply of 600.000 kilos and with 4,41% fat and 3,47% protein, amounts to €38,58 per 100 kilos. This is almost the same to last month. In the Dutch Milk price calculator Milcobel remains at the forefront of payment prices. Only DOC Kaas paid out more in August.

Concerns about protein price
According to Milcobel, the August price is based on a very good 'valorization' of cheese and cream. The dairy market is still strongly dominated by high fat prices. Milcobel is concerned about the market value of protein: prices for skimmed milk powder are now falling below the level of the intervention price.
