The reduction percentage in the phosphate reduction plan has been set at 5% for period 12. Minister Henk Kamp, Economic Affairs, reports this in a letter to Parliament on Friday 15 September.
This means that the reduction percentage remains the same as that of the current period. "This creates clarity, so that dairy farmers know where they stand and can use this when making decisions in their business operations," said Minister Kamp.
Uncertainty remains
However, it is still unclear how many companies will be exempted from the phosphate reduction plan. This depends, among other things, on the outcome of the appeal that former State Secretary Van Dam has instituted.
If companies are exempted, this also affects the reduction percentage for the other companies.
From 40% to 12%
In March it was the reduction percentage for periods 4 and 5 still a maximum of 40%. Because in the first half of the year much has been reduced, the percentage has been adjusted to 12%.
