Thoroughly want definition of land-bound

There are differing views on the definition of land-relatedness. The Network Thorough has therefore set up the Grass Committee. Based on reactions from the sector, this committee will give a fixed definition of the term 'land-relatedness'. The outcome of this will be presented to the House of Representatives and the Ministry at the beginning of December.

Thorough wants to avoid gnawing at the definition of land-bound. It therefore asks all parties in the sector to respond to the definition that Grond has made. They can leave a comment on the website of the Network Thorough.

Grass Committee established
Gronding has set up the Grass Committee. This consists of 5 representatives from science, the consumer association, dairy farmers, the dairy industry and a social organization. At the beginning of October, the committee will be definitively composed.

The Grass Committee will consolidate the definition on the basis of responses from the sector. Diana Saaman of Netwerk Grondig: "The reactions from the dairy farmers will be the most heavily taken into account in this. The land-bound dairy farmer is protected by this."

The definition will be presented at the end of November and presented to the House of Representatives and the Ministry at the beginning of December.

Various descriptions
Land-relatedness is important, among other things, with regard to the phosphate rules. In the legislation, land-based is defined as: 'companies that do not have a phosphate surplus'. Years ago, the concept was already linked to 2,5 LU per hectare. Other approaches to land-relatedness are 'a maximum number of kilograms of manure, milk or cows per hectare'.
