Too little paid

Dairy farmers demand money from Bel Leerdammer

2 October 2017 - Esther de Snoo - 3 comments

About 60 Bel Leerdammer milk suppliers want more money. The dairy farmers are dissatisfied with the level of the milk price paid. They have submitted a request for a supplementary payment.

The dairy farmers are concerned with the payment in the period from 2010 to 2015. They believe that Bel Leerdammer charged a lower milk price than had been offered to them. They have now submitted an application to the dairy for a supplementary payment.

The dairy farmers already went to court earlier. He proved them right in 2014. The result is a protracted lawsuit. Bel Leerdammer then appealed. This procedure is still ongoing. It can be concluded from an interim ruling that the judge's first judgment is correct. This is reported by Dinant te Biesebeek of the law firm of the same name, which assists the dairy farmers.

The difference rises from € 0,25 to € 2,80 per 100 kilos of milk

Own research
In the meantime, the dairy farmers themselves have had an investigation carried out into the payment of Bel Leerdammer. According to the dairy farmers, the calculated difference ranges from €0,25 per 100 kilos of milk supplied in 2010 to €2,80 per 100 kilos of milk supplied in 2015 (excluding VAT). These payout prices would not be higher than the reference price propagated by Bel Leerdammer.

Changing milk price policy
According to the dairy farmers, Bel Leerdammer told them until 2009 that the milk price paid would be in line with Cono Kaas. They are known for their high payout prices.

As of 2010, Bel Leerdammer has changed its milk price policy and uses a weighted average milk price based on the payment prices of Cono Kaas, DOC Kaas, Nemelco (Vreugdenhil) and FrieslandCampina. These dairy farmers are known for the height of the milk price.

As of January 1, 2016, the milk price policy of Bel Leerdammer has been changed again. Since then, the basis of the milk price has been determined by the fat and protein value.

The milk prices that are paid out do not reflect the earnings of the dairies at all. They just do what they want, and the tip that the dairy farmer receives for his milk seems more like a forbidden price agreement between the factories. Then you get this kind of situation .... just like the correction on the milk money from FC!

Dairy farmers are completely easy prey... They are generally very well guided!

Hope this group puts a stop to the arrogant Bel group!
Disgusting attitude they have towards loyal suppliers.
Who are now going to leave en masse
