Rutte III coalition agreement

What does the cabinet say about grazing and barn fires?

10 October 2017 - Bart-Jan van Zandwijk - 1 reaction

Cabinet-Rutte III does not want to make grazing mandatory. The new coalition does want to make agreements about barn fires. In addition, improving animal transport is also a priority. This is stated in the coalition agreement that was presented today, Tuesday 10 October.

Dairy farming must ensure that the target of 80% outdoor grazing in 2020 is achieved. In a investigation report the CLM and Wageningen University & Research (WUR) have named several measures in this regard, including an increased grazing premium.

Barn fires must be prevented

The Rutte III cabinet also wants to reduce the number of barn fires. It wants to do this by collaborating with insurance companies and chain quality systems. Agreements must then be made about pest control and those agreements must be made before 2019. In addition, a periodic electrical inspection should ensure that barn fires will occur less often.

Restricting transport
The cabinet also wants to focus on exploring further limiting the transport of animals and improving comfort during transport. Proposals for this will be made on European level

Reducing barn fires by tackling pests: Then allow decent means and not, like now, use products that first have to feed the mouse or rat for two to 3 days and then undergo a slow painful death. Just the old fashioned means, food has fallen over. Maybe Thieme can make a case for that too ;)

Exactly what you write. You feed for about ten days and then you will find dead mice. If you are unlucky, the new generation has already been born. As far as barn fires are concerned, our barns are fireproof. This is evident from what I wrote earlier
