Cono is slightly increasing the ratings for fat and protein in October. For example, the price per kilo of fat increases to €3,55 and protein rises to €7,54 per kilo. These are not yet the high prices of 2007 and 2014, but still valuations that allow the milk price to exceed €40.

With an annual supply of 600.000 kilos, 4,41% fat and 3,47% protein, this translates into a milk price of €41,14. That's a plus of €0,53. Because Cono has no quantity surcharge, the milk price only increases with a higher annual delivery. This is because the fixed costs are spread over more liters.

This means that the last quarter starts with the highest milk price of the year. In the meantime, the market has entered more turbulent waters. However, the latest sounds indicate that fat is starting to find its way to the top. Which means that the milk price can still go in any direction.

Other premiums
At Cono Kaasmakers, dairy farmers can earn a premium of €2 for grazing. By participating in Caring Dairy, you can also earn a bonus of €0,75. The financing to ZuivelNL amounts to €0,23 per 100 kilos. In addition, you can participate in a pilot GMO-free milk. This results in a bonus of €1 per 100 kilos of milk.
