The milk price of Bel Leerdammer will continue to pant in the neck of DOC Kaas for October. A plus in the protein helps the price up further. As a result, this milk price also gets the chance to break through the €40.
For the fifth time in a row, the cheesemaker from Schoonrewoerd has increased the rating for the protein. This goes from €7,20 per kilo to €7,45 per kilo. In total, the price of protein has increased by 15,5% since May. The fat price remains stable at €3,75 in October. Which means that fat remains €0,20 below the record of 2007 and 2014.
Higher milk price
The combination of a higher protein price and a stable fat price results in a milk price of €40,83 per 100 kilos (at 4,41% fat and 3,47% protein). This includes an annual supply of 600.000 kilos. It is an increase of €0,87 compared to a month earlier. Compared to a year earlier, this is even an increase of 32,7%.
Due to the price increase, the price continues to keep pace with the milk price of DOC Cheese. Cono pays just a little more for the milk, but all in all the cheese makers are in the middle bracket Dutch milk prices.
Surcharges
Dairy farmers who supply Bel Leerdammer have the opportunity to earn a bonus of €2 for full grazing. Partial grazing yields €0,15. In addition, there is a sustainability surcharge of €0,60. The ZuivelNL levy and quality surcharge are included in the milk price.October milk price exceeds €40.
