The reason for the price drop is that the supply of phosphate rights is greater than demand. Dairy farmers in the Netherlands are waiting until there is more clarity about, among other things, the depreciation options for the rights and the final publication of the law.
Traders expect that there is still a lot of supply hanging over the market and that demand will increase further in the coming weeks.
The price of phosphate rights has mainly fallen since November.
