Vreugdenhil manages to keep the milk price at the right level for the month of November. At the same time, dairy farmers report high levels. It yields a milk price to beat. Is Vreugdenhil still looking for new suppliers?
Vreugdenhil leaves the prices for fat and protein unchanged for November. This means that the valuation for fat remains at €4,05 per kilo, compared to €6,50 per kilo for protein. The month of November also has a winter surcharge of €3,90.
Above average levels
The stable prices for fat and protein mean that the milk price remains at €42,23 per 100 kilos (with an annual supply of 600.000 kilos). A delivery of 800.000 kilos translates into a price of €42,50 per 100 kilos and a delivery of 1,1 million kilos guarantees €42,78 per 100 kilos. All prices have been calculated with 4,41% fat and 3,47% protein.
The milk prices paid are often even higher than the calculated prices. This is because many dairy farmers record above-average fat and protein prices. For example, 4,49% fat, with 3,47% protein and a delivery of 1,1 million kilos yields a milk price of €43,10 per 100 kilos.
Additional premiums
Vreugdenhil gives dairy farmers the opportunity to receive a premium of up to €2,10, with €1,50 being earned by applying outdoor grazing. Sustainability yields a bonus of €0,60.
The premium for quality is included in the milk price. Separately, €0,23 will be deducted from the milk price for the ZuivelNL schemes. From 2018, this will be reduced to €0,07 per 100 kilos. Meanwhile, the quality surcharge will increase from €1,25 to €1,50.
Looking for suppliers?
The milk powder producer indicates that it is not looking for extra liters of milk for now. "We are taking a step back," says Ben Wolters, program manager Milk supply at Vreugdenhil. "It is also a difficult task to say how much milk we will receive in 2018."
The high levels result in record prices.
