CRV can once again come to the aid of dairy farmers in unblocking the company. On Friday 16 February, the organization announced that it had permission from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) to make changes to the animal data.
CRV apologizes for not being able to say much in recent days. There was intensive contact with RVO.nl and the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) to lift the restrictions. Roald van Noort, chairman of the board of CRV, indicates that with the release RVO.nl indicates that the system and the data processing are seen as reliable.
Extra chances for unblocking
It gives livestock farmers an extra opportunity to unblock their business. However, it appears from the field that if one wants to call RVO.nl, half a day must be set aside for this. Then there are other steps that need to be taken. CRV indicates that changes can be made through customer service. The farmer receives an overview of this, which can function as evidence afterwards.
However, it does not mean that cheating will become easier again, because CRV now has the option to refuse requests from farmers with suspicious animal movements. This must be done through a management decision.
collecting DNA
Another hurdle that CRV hopes to overcome is that of collecting DNA to establish the mother-calf relationship. The organization wants to use its own marker test for this. The NVWA is still considering this. Meanwhile, reactions show direction Boerenbusiness that farmers must also carry out a DNA test with newborn twins.
In the first half of this week (week 8) a new state of affairs will be published, says Carola Schouten's spokesperson.
