7 March 2018 - Herma van den Pol - 4 comments

€60 million is being earmarked for the sixth Nitrates Directive action programme. In addition, an additional €40 million will go to change tasks in rural areas. This was announced by ministers Carola Schouten (Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) and Cora van Nieuwenhuizen (Infrastructure and Water Management).

In the coalition agreement it was decided that there €275 million investment in nature and water quality. Minister Van Nieuwenhuizen and Minister Schouten announced on Wednesday 7 March how the money will be distributed. It turns out that the bulk of the money goes to the agricultural sector.

A total of €80 million is being earmarked for projects to remove chemicals from water. In addition, approximately €95 million is used for various nature projects. Finally, €60 million will also be made available for the latest Nitrate action program and €40 million will go to projects that ensure a vital countryside. This brings the total amount for the agricultural sector to approximately €100 million.

Where does the money go?
When it comes to the sixth action program Nitrates Directive, money is being invested in the dissemination of knowledge of good agricultural practice. The Delta Plan Agrarian Water Management program is being set up for this purpose.

However, when it comes to vital countryside, the topics of agriculture, nature, the quality of the living environment, the environment and water must go hand in hand. The points of attention are the 'Natura 2000 areas', peat meadow areas and areas with a high livestock density.

"A total of €80 million will be allocated to projects to remove chemicals from water."

Almost 30%!

Why through agriculture?
Chemicals?
Just a little longer and all 'chemical' substances are attributed to us as agriculture.

Just plug the sewer overflows.
That is the most effective way to get water standards in order. Who in The Hague is actually responsible for the veracity of official studies and reports on which the policy is based?

petatje you also understand that the clients for those studies and reports determine what the outcome will be. If it does not have the desired result, the study will be shelved and you will not get an assignment again. Life is so simple.

The farmer is always cheated by the government and politics the farmer is a fool, there must be someone to blame, that is good for the electorate. It's time for the farmers to take to the streets. Carola also makes a mess of it, also look at the grazers in the OVP.!!
