Feed manufacturer De Heus is strengthening its position in Spain. This with the acquisition of the compound feed company Piensos Unzué, which annually produces about 200.000 tons of feed and mainly focuses on the cattle sector.
The compound feed company focuses on the Navarra region and the adjacent regions in northern Spain. This is done from 2 production locations. With the acquisition of Piensos Unzué, the number of Spanish production locations of De Heus increases from 9 to 11.
Growth strategy
According to José Manuel García, director of De Heus Spain, the acquisition fits in with the company's growth strategy in the free Spanish feed market. The last time De Heus made an acquisition in Spain was in 2015. Then it became the Spanish-Portuguese nuter enlisted.
