Sales of branded cheese
The cheesemaker says that sales of its own brand cheeses are going well. However, the dairy farmer is somewhat affected by the fluctuating cream and butter prices, while the price of skimmed milk powder is historically low.
The dairy's milk supply is slightly above last year's level. Cono does not dare to predict whether supply will peak again in May. This is because the grazing season has started slowly. There may also have been shifts in the calving pattern as a result of the phosphate reduction plan.
Premium on the milk
At Cono, dairy farmers have the opportunity to earn a bonus of €2 through the grazing premium. You can also earn €0,75 with Caring Dairy and €1 can be earned by participating in genetically-free milk (VLOG milk).
