The average milk price until 2028 is estimated at €35,50 per 100 kilos. This is stated by the expert panel 'Long-term forecasts for dairy farming'. But the dairy farmer must take a number of important matters into account.
According to the panel, the average milk price until 2028 is €35,50 per 100 kilos of milk. This includes all cash additional payments and surcharges, but excludes member account credits and VAT. The expected milk price increases by €1 per 100 kilos, compared to the expectation made last year.
However, the panel also indicates that costs will continue to rise. This is because measures need to be taken in the field of sustainability and land-relatedness. It is therefore advisable to take this into account in the long-term budget.
Feed plays a role
De a prognostic for the milk price is based on the European Commission's EU Agricultural Outlook, including an estimate by the expert panel on the influence of these developments on the milk price in the Netherlands. In addition to the development of the milk price, feed prices play a role.
The panel predicts that the price for luxury chunks will be increased, in combination with a higher VEM and DVE content. The expected price for calf milk powder will be increased to €200 per 100 kilos.
Costs for manure disposal
The panel also shows that dairy farmers for regular manure disposal can count on a price of €5 to €14 per cubic meter, depending on regional differences. The additional costs for cubic meters to be processed are €3 to €6. The panel did take into account the maintenance of the derogation.
