The milk price of Vreugdenhil remains stable for the month of May for the third time in a row. The supplier dairy farmers receive a basic milk price just above €30 per 100 kilos.
The price for milk fat yields €3 per kilo in May and the price for protein remains at €5,40 per kilo. With an annual supply of 800.000 kilos of milk, the basic milk price is €30,58 per 100 kilos (at 4,41% fat and 3,47% protein), according to the milk price comparison. The basis for the organic milk price is: €3,88 for fat and €8,78 for protein.
Although the price of skimmed milk powder is increasing, this does not yet result in a higher milk price for the powder producer. Vreugdenhil is no exception in this, because almost all milk prices in the Netherlands made a sideways movement.

Premiums and allowances
The milk price includes the ZuivelNL levy and a quality surcharge. Premiums and allowances can be earned on top of the basic milk price. These can amount to €2,10 per 100 kilos. Of this, €1,50 can be earned through grazing and €0,60 through sustainability.
When there is partial grazing, this is valued at €0,25 per 100 kilos. From 2018, dairy farmers who practice grazing will receive the premium monthly.
