DOC Cheese also increases milk price
DOC Kaas has increased the milk price for the month of July. The second increase in a row confirms the improved mood in the cheese market.

After dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina increased the guaranteed price for July, DOC Kaas is also following this move. The cheese maker increases the fat price by €0,09 to €3,02 per kilo. The price of protein increases by €0,18 to €6,03 per kilo. With an annual supply of 800.000 kilos of milk, this results in a milk price of €34,15 per 100 kilos.
The milk price started to increase from April, before rising above €40 per 100 kilos. Whether the milk price will follow the same trend in 2018 as in 2017, cannot be predicted directly. While milk prices will probably benefit from the increased butter and cheese price in the short term.
Levies and premiums
At DOC Cheese a sustainability bonus of €0,90 per 100 kilos can be earned. From 2017 there is a separate grazing allowance, which can amount to €1,75 per 100 kilos.
The price of cheese has risen considerably in recent months.
