Will the rise in milk prices continue?

Milk prices almost all show an increase in July. Only Cono Kaasmakers does not implement a plus. As a result, other processors are paying more for the milk for the first time since April.

The trend in the milk market reversed in May. Actually speaking the trade was already recording high prices. However, due to the slow depreciation of the milk price, it took longer for prices to return to a level that does justice to the market. It also meant that the increase took longer to materialize.

Increase continues in August
The price rose to €33,15 in June, before rising to €34,01 per 100 kilos in July. It is a price that is above that of 2015 and 2016, but below that of 2014 and 2017. The first quotes for August show a erratic picture. Likes it that way FrieslandCampina the milk price remained stable, but other processors increased the price.

In the last months of the year the price trend is more uncertain. On the one hand, the dry and warm conditions have more control over the milk supply, but on the other hand there is the game of attracting members. That was something that supported higher milk prices in 2017, while the market no longer did so.
