Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods also increases the milk price for August. At that processor, the milk price breaks through €33 per 100 kilos. However, it is Arla who is laying the bottom in the market. As a result, the lower end of the average milk price drops below €32.
Vreugdenhil closes the month of August with the announcement of the milk price. It is also the last month without winter allowance, because it will come into effect again in September. For now, dairy farmers have to rely on an increase in the basic price.
Higher milk price at Vreugdenhil
The fat price will increase from €3,45 to €3,55 per kilo in August, while the protein price will rise to €5,60. With an annual supply of 600.000 kilos of milk, it yields a milk price of €33,43 per 100 kilos (at 4,41% fat and 3,47% protein). Only in January 2017 did the milk generate more money. With an annual delivery of 900.000 kilos, the milk price goes to €33,81 per 100 kilos and with a delivery of 1,1 million kilos, the milk yields €33,98.
The month of August can be closed with the announcement of Vreugdenhil's milk price. Notes again Arla the lowest milk price, but it is increasing and amounts to €600.000 per 32,83 kilos for 100 kilos of milk. The price remains stable in September, although the processor does issue a warning for later in the year.
The milk prices of FrieslandCampina and Bel Leerdammer remained stable in August, while the milk price of Cono started moving again for the first time since March. Due to the increase, the milk price (€35,29 per 100 kilos) takes first place, compared to FrieslandCampina 1 month earlier. It immediately results in an increase in the spread between the highest and lowest prices. This increases from €2,20 to €2,46 per 100 kilos.
Premiums and allowances
All milk prices are stated without surcharges for special milk flows, but including a levy for ZuivelNL and a quality surcharge. At Vreugdenhil the premium can amount to €2,10 per 100 kilos. Of this, €1,50 can be earned through grazing and €0,60 through sustainability. When there is partial grazing, this is valued at €0,25 per 100 kilos. From 2018, dairy farmers who practice grazing will receive the premium monthly.
