The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) reports that €2018 million will be made available in 2019 and 15 for the subsidy 'Investments in calf stables'. The organization will announce this on Friday 28 September.
Veal farmers who want to invest in ammonia-reducing devices or welfare-friendly stable floors can apply for the subsidy from 1 October (up to and including 30 October). The €15 million for 2018 and 2019 is divided into €7,5 million for ammonia-reducing devices and €7,5 million for welfare-friendly barn floors.
The aim of the subsidy 'Investments in calf sheds' is to give the veal calves sector a quality boost and it also stimulates sustainability, animal welfare and innovation.
Up to 40% of the costs
The subsidy is intended for veal calf farmers who own 1 or more stables in which they keep veal calves commercially. They can apply for the subsidy for a maximum of 40% of the costs of the purchase and installation. A maximum of €100.000 in subsidy is available for the investment in ammonia-reducing devices.
