A case of mad cow disease (BSE) has been diagnosed on a dairy farm in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Fergus Ewing, the Scottish Agriculture Minister has activated a security zone around the affected company.
The discovery of the animal disease stands alone and is the first case of BSE in Scotland in 10 years. According to the ministry, the infected animal has not reached the food chain, which means that contamination has become virtually nil.
