The dairy spot market once again shows an extremely stable picture, supported by demand from the fresh segment.
There is relatively little trade in raw milk. The DCA quotation (at 4,4% fat, delivered) remains at €36,50 per 100 kilos for the third week in a row. Meanwhile, the market in southern Germany is weaker; the quotation (at 3,7% fat, delivered) drops by €0,50 to €37 per 100 kilos. The price remains unchanged in the north of Germany.
Prices are expected to decline in the coming week(s), as is historically common. The milk supply is lagging behind last year. In Germany the weekly supply shows a difference of 1% and in France the supply is now 4% behind. There is also talk about little milk in the Netherlands.
Stable cream prices
The DCA cream price is again at €5.400 per tonne. Availability in the market is limited, while some parties are looking for volumes (due to production before Christmas). As a result, the price of cream (VLOG) in Germany even shows an increase. This is traded for €5.800 per tonne.
The availability of skimmed milk concentrate is also limited, although the price does come down. The DCA quotation drops this week by €50 to €1.420 per tonne.
