Milk price DOC Cheese drops by 35 euros
The milk price of DOC Kaas has been reduced for the month of December.

With an annual supply of 800.000 kilos of milk, the basic milk price of the cheesemaker from Hoogeveen amounts to €34.68 per 100 kilos (at 4,4% fat and 3,7% protein). This is a decrease of €1,02 compared to November, when the price remained stable for the third consecutive month.
Lower cheese prices
The price reduction was expected. In recent months, the prices of various dairy products have fallen sharply; the fat component in particular has fallen significantly in value. For example, the butter price (ZuivelNL) has fallen from €1.370 per tonne to €4.180 per tonne since the summer.
Also the cheese prices are under pressure and this affects the commodity value of the milk price, causing dairy processors to make corrections.
