The price of beef chunks rose again in November. Will the rise continue?
With the exception of last July, the listing has been on the rise for 1 year. During that period the price increased by €3,25 per 100 kilos. The price of protein-rich chunks (B) also increased by €0,15 in November to €26,80 per 100 kilos.
Flattening coming
The reason for the price increase is the increased raw material prices, partly as a result of last summer's drought. Meanwhile, the wheat price (Matif) has been stable around €200 per tonne for weeks.
It is expected that cattle prices will not rise further. The compound feed price indicator foresees a leveling off of the price of standard chunk A in the short term.
