Since this year, the Drenthe cheese maker has valued fat and protein at the same level. For the month of February, the fat and protein price drops by €0,14 to €4,20 per kilo. With an annual supply of 800.000 kilos of milk, the milk price is €33,01 per 100 kilos. That is a decrease of €1,10 compared to January.

In addition, a number of premiums can be earned for grazing and sustainability. The maximum bonus is limited to €2,25 per 100 kilos. In practice, the milk price can still rise above €35 per 100 kilos. However, this does not alter the fact that DOC Cheese is in the milk price comparison is under both Arla and FrieslandCampina.

Cheese price does not choose a direction
That DOC Kaas chooses a different direction Arla en FrieslandCampina is indicative of the situation on the dairy market. Now that sentiment on the powder market has improved, pressure on the fat market is increasing somewhat. Cheese prices have not yet taken a clear direction.

After the significant write-down in November, cheese prices are now mainly stable.
