Advance DOC Cheese in line with the market
March seems to be a month of stable milk prices. Following Arla and FrieslandCampina, DOC Kaas also leaves the milk price unchanged.

The cheesemaker from Drenthe, which is affiliated with the German dairy group DMK, maintains the fat and protein price at €4,20 per kilo. For an annual delivery of 800.000 kilos of milk, this results in an advance price of €32,49 per 100 kilos. In the milk price comparison DOC Kaas is therefore significantly below FrieslandCampina and Arla.
On top of the milk price, premiums can be earned for grazing and sustainability. The maximum bonus for this is limited to €2,25 per 100 kilos.
Flat cheese market
The stable mutation corresponds to the line shown by the cheese prices. The price of Gouda 45 has been fluctuating between €2,95 and €3,10 per kilo for weeks. The demand for cheese is good and there are indications in the market that the undertone is visibly improving. Whether this will also lead to higher cheese prices remains to be seen. The demand for Emmentaler is also good.
