Cees 't Hart, who for many years held sway at the FrieslandCampina cooperative, will not receive a salary increase in his current position as director of beer brand Carlsberg. De Telegraaf reports that his salary has been frozen at €7 million.
Between 2008 and 2014, 't Hart was CEO of FrieslandCampina and he did that without merit. In its time, the dairy cooperative successfully entered the Chinese market. The new head office in Amersfoort was also opened. The success of 't Hart did not go unnoticed and so he was stolen by the brewer from Denmark.
Salary too high
He is also successful at Carlsberg, which is why he received a salary increase of more than 20% last year. As a result, the director now earns €7 million annually. However, this salary increase was not well received by the shareholders of Carlsberg, because they believe that he earns too much. That is why the board has decided not to increase his salary this year, but to freeze it.
Nevertheless, 't Hart still earns much more than he did at FrieslandCampina. In 2011, he earned a sloppy €1,4 million there.
