German dairy processor Deutches Milchkontor (DMK) has announced it has acquired baby food manufacturers Alete and German Baby Food.
According to DMK the acquisitions are necessary to comply with their customer-centric strategy. In addition, the dairy processor sees several opportunities in the baby food market. That is why €145 million was recently invested in the factory in Strückhausen (Lower Saxony), which focuses entirely on baby milk powder.
Production of baby food
Alete makes baby milk powder and baby food, among other things. The processor does indicate that the production branch of the company will not be taken over; The current owner remains responsible for this. However, the sales and administration departments will be taken over. This means that approximately 25 employees will have DMK as an employer.
German Baby Food also produces baby food. However, the company does not have its own brand, but produces, packages and labels the products for other brands. On the other hand, Alete products are sold under their own name.
