Machine manufacturer Lely is going to join the 'JoinData' cooperative. According to the company, the producer of the data, the farmer, gains more insight into who has access to his company data. An entrepreneur can deregister or revoke authorizations himself.
JoinData is a cooperative that tries to make the use of data transparent for the agricultural sector. This cooperative is a collaboration between Agrifirm, CRV, FrieslandCampina, LTO Nederland and EDI-Circle. It thus focuses on dairy farming, although Cosun and Avebe also aspire to become members.
Farmer gains insight
According to Alexander van der Lely, the CEO at Lely, this step fits within the strategy of the company from Maasland: the farmer must retain ownership of his data and determine who gets insight. In addition, the data must be of high quality and secure. By receiving this data, Lely can develop better products, which in turn benefits the customer.
Lely already has a link with CRV for the 'Veemanager' application. This service will soon run via JoinData, so that you as a user will have a clear idea of who can see what. You can authorize or deny parties through an authorization platform. Lely mentions as an additional advantage that the Veemanager coupling or related products can be improved in this way in the future.
Implementation
The manufacturer is now working on the technology. Lely must be introduced into the platform and adapt its own T4C software. A large number of customers already use data links, which means that they have to deal with the permissions platform.
