The insiders indicate that the market is comparable to the previous weeks. "There is little change in prices, but trade continues well. So we cannot complain," is the general sentiment in the market. On the other hand, this sentiment does not cause price changes, which means that prices are all stable.

Stable prices
Several forage traders indicate that the straw market has come under some pressure. This ensures that the top of the price range has dropped slightly and amounts to a maximum of €140. However, this has had no effect on the average straw price, which remains (for both barley and wheat straw) at €135 per tonne, free of charge.

This week the price for meadow hay is once again €205 per tonne free at the farm, which is still far above the average is. Silage maize is currently sold for €60 per tonne free of charge, with demand still being reasonable to good. Beer spent grain showed a decline last week, but remains stable this week at €2,40 per percent dry matter.

The prices of tall fescue, red fescue and meadow meadow remain stable this week at €165, €180 and €155 respectively per tonne free at farm. It should be noted that there is little supply of this product, but that demand is also lagging behind somewhat.

Silage grass still popular
On the other hand, there is still a lot of demand for silage, although this does not immediately result in a higher price. The price remains stable at €55 per tonne, free of charge. Perennial ryegrass is trading at €150 per tonne free of charge this week, while this product had to decline last week. There is also a first cut here and there gras taken from the land, although this is mainly for personal use.
