The Belgian dairy group Milcobel will sell DupontCheese, the Dutch cheese trading company, as of 1 July 2019 to Vandersterre Groep Bedrijven from Bodegraven. In addition, the name DupontCheese is disappearing from the market.
After the takeover, the company will be called 'Vandersterre Vers concepts', the 2 companies report in a press statement. The acquisition amount has not been disclosed. This deal still needs to be approved by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). DupontCheese supplies this to specialty cheese shops, food service and retail, and the range ranges from Dutch farmer's cheese to sheep's cheese from Spain and from Greek feta to mountain cheeses from Norway.
Partnerships
In the sale of cheese, DupontCheese works together with Cono Kaasmakers and Klaver Kaas, among others. Vandersterre, a Dutch family business with about 300 employees, focuses on producing, refining and packaging Dutch cheese specialties for the Dutch market and in more than 80 countries.
In addition to the further expansion of the Dutch cheese specialty range, Vandersterre is intensifying the range of foreign cheese and other fresh assortments.
