Bel Leerdammer keeps the milk price in June the same as in May. The cheese maker from Schoonrewoerd has lowered the milk price in steps since October, which means that in the milk price comparison of Boerenbusiness a kind of staircase down has arisen.
Bel Leerdammer, part of the French Groupe Bel, will not change the prices of fat and protein for June. Fat remains at €3,15 per kilo, while protein pays €6,60. In the milk price comparison, this results in a price of €33,80 per 100 kilos (with 4,41% fat, 3,47% protein and an average annual delivery of 800.000 kilos). For 1,1 million kilos of milk, the price is €33,99 per 100 kilos.
New habit?
Since the autumn, Bel Leerdammer has made it a habit to reduce the price slightly and then keep it the same for 1 month. Since October 2018, a step down has been created from €36,09 in October to €33,80 in June. In the milk price comparison Bel Leerdammer maintains its place in the middle, although the company sees Cono Kaasmakers (which lowered the milk price in June) coming closer.
Bel Leerdammer itself reports a milk price of €35,92 per 100 kilos (with an annual supply of 1,1 million kilos). This includes the grazing premium of €2 per 100 kilos and excludes the sustainability premium that the company pays out with the March milk money.
