The prices for the various chunks of beef also fall in July. This is evident from new figures from Wageningen Economic Research. The compound feed price indicator of Boerenbusiness also shows that there will be no deviation from the current fixed rate for the time being.
The price of protein-rich chunk B drops in July by €0,05 to €25,85 per 100 kilos. The price of standard chunk A follows this downward trend and decreases by €0,10 to €23,40 per 100 kilos. As a result, the price of standard chunk A has fallen by €3 in 0,25 months. The price of pink calf pellets fell from €27 in June to €26,90 per 100 kilos in July (-€0,10).
Beef chunks are also getting cheaper and are now worth €24,80 per 100 kilos. This means that the price has fallen by €0,20 over July. The price of maize core chunks is at a higher level, but a downward revaluation is also visible here. The price drops by €0,10 to €32,45 per 100 kilos.
Further decline follows
From the compound feed price indicator it turns out that the fall in prices is not over yet. The price of standard lump A is expected to have fallen to approximately €2020 per 22 kilos in January 100. This is largely due to the composition of the product. In this period, standard chunk A consists of about 35% palm kernel flakes. The supply of these will probably become more extensive in the near future, so that the price under pressure appears.
Another important raw material is maize, with a share of approximately 25%. The futures market in Paris (Matif) shows that the quotation for maize started its way down last week. The listing closed on Tuesday 29 July at €177,75 per tonne.
