Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods keeps the milk price stable in August for the fifth month in a row. This is in line with the stable dairy market of recent weeks. How does the milk powder producer score in the milk price comparison?
The milk powder products, with its head office in Nijkerk, Gelderland, maintain the fat and protein price for August at €5,70 and €3,10 per kilo respectively. With an annual supply of 1 million kilos of milk and standard Dutch contents, the basic milk price remains stable at €32,26 per 100 kilos.
Winter allowance is coming
On top of the basic milk price, premiums can be earned for grazing (€1,50) and sustainability (€0,60). In practice, the maximum payment price can therefore increase to €34,36 per 100 kilos. This puts Vreugdenhil at the bottom milk price comparison van Boerenbusiness. However, from September the dairy farmer will pay a winter surcharge of €3,90 per 100 kilos, which means an increase is expected.
According to Vreugdenhil, this stable milk price is a reflection of the flat dairy market. For example, ZuivelNL's skimmed milk powder price has been moving fairly stable for weeks in a bandwidth between €200 and €220 per 100 kilos.
