The dairy farmers in Poland are stacking record after record. While record production was already achieved in almost all previous months of this year (except for June), production in August will also reach the highest level since 2004. This is according to new figures from the European Commission.
In August, Polish dairy farmers produced 1,029 million tons of milk. That is the highest level since 2004, but approximately 2,5% less than last month. This is not surprising, because if we look at the seasonal trend, we see that milk production always decreases somewhat in the month of August. This is expected to decline until it reaches its lowest point in November.
Record production
However, if we compare Polish milk production with previous years, it is clear that dairy farmers in the country are producing at full capacity. Compared to last year, milk production for the month of August is about 2,2% higher: 1,029 million tons versus 1,007 million tons of milk in 2018. Milk production is also significantly higher this year compared to the 5-year average: +4%.
