Frieslandcampina lowers guaranteed price

FrieslandCampina has reduced the guaranteed price for October by a quarter to €34,75 per 100 kilos. This reduction follows after 3 months of a stable advance price (€35). The October price is the lowest since June 2018.

Of the decrease of €0,25, €0,24 per 100 kilos is a correction, FrieslandCampina reports. The correction is due to the fact that the milk prices paid by the reference companies are lower than the dairy group had previously estimated. In other words, because the competitors have paid less, the dairy group adjusts the guaranteed price downwards (in accordance with the current system). 

The guaranteed price applies to milk with 3,47% protein, 4,41% fat and 4,51% lactose, excluding VAT and an average annual supply of 800.000 kilos. FrieslandCampina has reduced the protein price by €4,09 to €567,25 per 100 kilos, compared to September. Fat loses €2,04 and the value of lactose has been reduced by €0,40 to €57,13 per 100 kilos.

Organic price remains stable
FrieslandCampina keeps the organic guaranteed price stable at €47,50 per 100 kilos. However, this price does include a downward correction of €0,34 per 100 kilos. The organic price has the same values ​​as the guaranteed price for conventional milk, but applies to an annual supply of an average of 600.000 kilos of milk.

If we convert this price to the standard values, the dairy group's bare milk price comes out at €33,98 per 100 kilos (4,41% fat, 3,57% protein and an annual supply of 1 million kilos). This is €0,25 lower than in the previous month.
